Gather 'round kiddies, I've a story to tell.
What story is it this time Dolly?
I am about to tell you how freedom fell.
The kids sat still, engrossed in her words
The noise of a pindrop could easily be heard.
I was a little older than your age,
And it was half past three.
The skies were darkening
As I picked from the garden, Sage.
And from the town, came a horrible scream!
Who was it Dolly? Who screamed?
You all remember Ms.Du' Cree? Twas her who screamed,
And scream she did. Scared me half out of my wits.
I looked over yonder, and what did I see?
People in shackles, chains, and ties.
I cried,
For that was the day, that Freedom Died.
