Yesterday (12/16/06), I was riding home on my bike. I was coming back from the library in Bellport Village. It was about 4pm.
There's this dip in the road that I heart to ride down on my bike because it goes really fast. On one side there's a gas station and on the other side there's a building where people park thier cars at.
Anywho...I was riding through the gas station and decided to go down the dip. I couldn't look down the road because some people decided to park their cars where the veiw was being blocked...so I couldn't see, but I could hear a car coming. It sounded like it had already passed and was going down the street, so I went down the dip. Less than half way down-I SAW A VAN COMING TOWARDS ME eek !!
I tried to put my brakes on but it was to late-the driver tried to stop put he didn't stop in time cry ...as we were trying to stop, I rode RIGHT INTO his right head light, flew of my bike and about 8-11 feet away from the van, scrapped my left elbow and knee and fell down in the middle of the road cry !
As I was getting up off the road, this guy comes out to see if I'm okay. He's all hysterical and nervous! He's like "OMG!! Are you ok?! Can you move your arms? Can you move your legs? WHATS TODAYS DATE?!?! gonk gonk ". But I was concerned about his van. "Sir!" I said, "I'm sorry if I caused any sort of damage to your vehicle !!". Then I started to cry !
When I got home...it was terrible! My mom was putting decorations on our tree in the living room and had Chrismas Carols playing on the DVD player when I got home. After I told her what happened outside on the front stoop, she was eek ! My mom took me into her bedroom and gave me two icepacks. Then she said "Honey! We should take you to the ER! you should get checked out!". Luckily I didn't have to go to the hospital. But my arm and my leg were soooo sore!
And they still are 3nodding . I'M JUST GLAD TO BE ALIVE!!!
