I might owe you an apology here: In my earlier comment, I didn't mean at all to imply that your guy's sentiment came from a funny brain rather than a sweet heart sweatdrop There is a literary term for cross-sensory comparisons (a specific form of metaphor if I remember right) and I thought that the article I hurriedly linked to at the time was it, but it seems to me now that I was mistaken.
