Welcome to my crazy little experiment!
Log 1 will just be a short description of what the hell I'm talking about smile
This is an experiment I randomly came up with and I'm deciding to do for fun, and an excuse to help me boost my rank in the Fishing world.
The cost of my experiment with be great, so if you decide to donate to my cause, just check out my shop in the marketplace - I'll be selling stuff all week to keep expenses down [ gonk ].
asterisks and addition signs[+] mean go to the bottom of the journal for a big more detail explaination.
Purpose: To decide overall, with the use of both filtering and not filtering, which bait is best overall to use.
Materials:
- Approximately 170 Grade F Bait
- 12-16 Grade D Bait
- 12-16 Grade A Bait
- A fellow fisher who has "M4d 5killz" in the Port of Gambino [fisher needed] *
- A fellow fisher who has "M4d 5killz" in the Durem Reclamation Facility [Fisher needed] *
- The spare time to acheive that many buckets in a single day**
- A clock
Procedure:
Essentially what I'm going to do is each day I am going to fish approx 40 [+] bucketloads in one fishing area, testing each bait in each of the the waters at different intervals of fishing, to see with time, how much degredation - if any at all - in the value of the bait decreases as you fish more. At about the 12th, 25th, and last bucket of the day, I will test each bait in how they fair, whether if I'm filtering, or just catching whatever bites.
Because the first bucket of the day only happens, well, once, I will have to go back to each fishing hole, two[++] more times to test each bait.
Due to my inability to filter crap in Gambino [and partially because I can be an idiot in durem] I need someone else to help me with the Filtered Bucket.
Laymen's Term's - The breakdown
Okay that was probably confusing as hell there, so I'm going to give a quick show what I'm doing for the first day just to clear things up.
Day 1 - Durem Reclamation Facility
First Bucket - Grade F Bait - UnFiltered Bucket
2nd Bucket - Grade F Bait - Filtered Bucket
Bucket 3 to 11 - Unfiltered Grade F because I don't care about them.
Bucket 12 - Grade A Bait - Unfiltered
Bucket 13 - Grade A Bait - Filtered
Bucket 14 - Grade D Bait - Unfiltered
Bucket 15 - Grade D Bait - Filtered
Bucket 16 - Grade F Bait - Unfiltered [or I'll just use Bucket 11 instead]
Bucket 17 - Grade F Bait - Filtered
Bucket 18 to 26 - Unfiltered Grade F
Bucket 27 - Grade A Bait - Unfiltered
Bucket 28 - Grade A Bait - Filtered
Bucket 29 - Grade D Bait - Unfiltered
Bucket 30 - Grade D Bait - Filtered
Bucket 31 - Grade F Bait - Unfiltered [or I'll just use Bucket 26 instead]
Bucket 32 - Grade F Bait - Filtered
Bucket 33 to 40 - Unfiltered F.
Bucket 41 - Grade A Bait - Unfiltered
Bucket 42 - Grade A Bait - Filtered
Bucket 43 - Grade D Bait - Unfiltered
Bucket 44 - Grade D Bait - Filtered
Bucket 45 - Grade F Bait - Unfiltered [or I'll just use Bucket 40 instead]
Bucket 46 - Grade F Bait - Filtered
Day Two - same area
First Bucket - Grade D Bait - UnFiltered Bucket
2nd Bucket - Grade D Bait - Filtered Bucket
Bucket 3-40 - Grade F Bait unfiltered with some occasional D's and A's for extra info.
Day Three - same area
First Bucket - Grade A Bait - UnFiltered Bucket
2nd Bucket - Grade A Bait - Filtered Bucket
Bucket 3-40 - Grade F Bait unfiltered with some occasional D's and A's for extra info.
Day four, new area, same thing.
I'm going to give an avg time if take to fill an unfiltered bucket, and time how long it take to fill a filtered bucket and compare the times as well, so for those who might like to agree to help me with the fiasco, look at your start and end times on the clock to see how long it took to get you that bucket. [It doesn't have to be exact like 10min 45sec 33 mill., just something like 8minutes or 13 minutes. It's okay if you're off by a minute].
Conclusion:
By the end of this, I hope to be able to present this to show which type of bait may actually be the most useful, and how much of a difference filtering helps [or hinders? wink ].
The answers seems pretty obvious, but this is something to do, an excuse for me to fish more than 20 buckets a day, and maybe give a more accurate perspective on the Bait types.

* If you agree to this you will be required to fund your own bait and fish at least 30-50 buckets on that day. Of course if you're hardcore enough, you probably already. If you can do this please help, especially for Gambino *hopeful*
** Yes one day. Remember the 12 hour reset?
+ I may decide to go up as high as 50 or 60 buckets, if insanity and school permits.
++ For the first bucket of the day, because it essentially yields the highest quality[allegedly] bucket [especially for F Baiters], the first is unfiltered to give a decent chance of a good bucket, the second being filtered since the second bucket can be easily as good.

This experiment officialy begins when I wake up 'tomorrow' morning, since it's 12:30am and I have to wait until 10am for the fishing reset to kick in.

I've decided instead of doing the first two buckets of a named bait, after my third fihing bucket I noticed something and decided to use the third bucket of theday too. So instead it'll go:
1st bucket: Grade __ Bait Unfiltered
2nd Bucket: " " Filtered
3rd Bucket: " " Unfiltered

I do notice that while I hook trash on A-bait, I hook less of it. hence less time spent/wasted filtering out junk.
