In Memory of Jake

Jake

Where do you turn
When there's pain 'round every corner
You have no place to go
Everyone has barred the door against you
And they turn you into the Outcast.

You have nowhere to turn
You have no place to hide
SO you think your only option is suicide.

But when you looked into you sister's face
Knowing you have let her down
And you see no hate; just sorrow;
No anger; just pain;
No condemnation for you

And when you looked you mother in her eyes
You saw the anger and the pain inside
You saw the sorrow and regret

And when I looked at you,
I only saw my brother

When I looked into your eyes and I was your self-hatred and I saw your pain
And I saw the sorrow and I saw your shame
And I knew that you'd try to take it all away

Where do you turn
When there's shame 'round every corner
And there are webs of cies
Webs of secrets
Webs of lies.

You'd thought you'd have no place to go
And that me and mom would stop loving you
For all that you have done
We could never stop loving you

You were alway there fo rme
Now you're gone, swept away in you sea of despair
I never got to say goodbye
I never got to tell you how much I needed you
I never got to say goodbye
Never got to tell you how much you had to stay.

And I knew somewhere in my gut
That you wouldn't say goodbye to me
You couldn't face it
You had so much ahead of you
And now I'll never know
My unborn Nieces and Nephews
I'll never get to know my never sister-in-law.

Why oh why did you leave us here?
There's so much you could have done
But how could you pick up that gun?
And pull the trigger?

You should be right here right now
Bugging me and mom right now
Eating all the food in the house
Talking to me
Threatening all possible boyfriends

But you're gone
You couldn't face you shame
You had to die
Now nothings the same
