If it werent for my two kids, I'd hate my ex-wife.
Much as I love that ex-wife line, I realized today that it doesn't really make much sense. It's quite easy to hate somebody who's done something good for you. I'm not quite at the kids + divorce stage in my life yet, so I'm gonna have to stick to videogames for my example, 'cause I'm at an age where videogames make more sense than kids + divorce.

My ex was a pervert and an a*****e. He drank, he smoked, he wasn't old enough to legally do either. He kept trying to convince me to have sex with him, and after several months of refusing, it turned out he'd meant unprotected sex to boot! (I discovered this when he asked me that question of questions, "Would you say yes if I used a condom" stare ). Once I finally got it through his head that I didn't want sex, he made it his life's mission to get me drunk. I wonder if he knows that when a girl says no while sober, it's still rape if she says yes once drunk. Anyways...
He also introduced me to some of the best videogames I've ever played. They're not earth-shattering in their uniqueness, they're not revolutionary, but they are my favorites. He introduced me to Legend of Legaia, LUNAR, and Final Fantasy. These games hold an immense importance to me.
I hate my ex. I hate him, I hate having dated him, I hate having stayed with him for as long as I did, I hate not telling my current boyfriend to break his ******** arms before he moved away. But I love what he introduced me to. You don't need to forgive an evil person in order to love what they did for you. I will never forgive him for the way he treated me, but I will always be grateful for what he did for me.
