“I don't mean to sound bitter, cold, or cruel, but I am, so that's how it comes out.”
Sweeet!
I'm a bargain hunter. I love finding cool s**t for cheep, cheep, cheep. It's like, a passion of mine. A good bargain is like a good orgasm.
So, bargain of the moment:

27" sony WEGA flatscreen TV. retail = ~250-300$. (orig retail 500$)

My price = $180.08, after tax.

It's so tasty, it's like a whole new taste-treat. DVD's look killer. VHS movies look so crisp, it's like a DVD. Settings and visual controls to make a geek happy. Games are.. so good. Disgaea looks ********. I love this TV.

In fact, sunday was bargain central.

Loot from sunday:

Cowboy bebop; the movie DVD: $4.
The Tenth kingdom DVD collection: $8
Back to the future 1, Beetlejuice, Usual suspects, Good Will hunting and Misery VHS; $2.50 a piece.

Previous bargains:
2.3 Megapixel Kodak digital camera, 64MB onboard memory: $30.
Katana and Wakasashi set (mild damage, easily repaired) $25, Retail ~$150
600Mhz p3 celeron, 64MB ram, 20Gb Hdd, 15" monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers; $30

I'm a good hunter.

*Whistles* Niiice. Do you have any bargain-fu techniques that you could pass on to us lesser bargain hunters? (Bargain-fu acolytes?)

Wow, and I thought I was good. most of my impressively expensive wardrobe was bought at 70-90% off (shhh don't tell) but I never find good deals on electronics or anything really pricely like that. Where do you shop? eek

For DVD's and tapes, I hit 2 places. Flea markets and pawnshops. fleamarkets are like shoopping lotteries. You never know what you'll find. Got my swords there. DVD's and tapes are cheap, too.. Books out the wazoo, crazy furniture, it's basically a big damn garage sale. Occasional electronics deals, but that's pretty rare.

For electronics, I hit pawn shops. Ez pawn has 4,6 and 8 dollar dvd's and tapes (Usually double-tapes, brand-new dvd's or collections.). Electronics, too. Don't trust the display you see on the TV's in the store. They use low-quality splitters that add a s**t-ton of static to the images, so the quality is much lower than what you'll see at home. Got my TV at an EZ pawn. Never use layaway.. They screw you over on tax and fees. Pay cash or check upfront. Also, check your DVD's after they get them from the back.. Some are scratched to s**t, so double check. Some are just dirty and need a quick wipe down.
