Journal of a Swordsman
The daily life of a training swordsman
Day 2
Sorry for not keeping it up to date so I'm counting this as day 2, I'll try to keep the dates closer than this. Today's lesson is devote most of your time to hone your skills as a swordsman and try not to shame yourself or those around you. I know I said to be honorable when using a sword in the last entry but I can't overstate the importance of it. Use your sword to protect you ideals and loved ones and never use it to seek out blood without reason. Self-defense is one thing but murder will bring shame to you. So please keep the senseless bloodshed to a 0 count. I'm not giving you permission to do whatever you want with a sword I'm just saying you shouldn't use it cause its there. I am not held accountable for your actions or your thoughts so if you misunderstand what I'm saying then I won't be held accountable by it. Keep this in mind, 'A sword is not a tool used for killing but is an extension of ones self to shield the defenseless.' That is all and thank you for taking the time to read this. *bows respectfully* -Scias

I must say that I highly agree with a lot of what you said. And that your view of the sword is indeed a very honorable and romantic one. However, for all a sword is, it is, at it's core, a weapon. And like all weapons it is meant to be used for the art of combat. However, that alone doesn't make it ok to take up your blade and wield it in a reckless manner. Because even though it is a weapon, it is still something that must be respected and honored. You see, this type or thing doesn't just relate to blades alone. Any form of weapon should be considered as such. From blades to firearms and everything in between.
It's up to you to decide how you use your weapon. Because the right and wrongs of it are in the eyes of the beholder. After all, what a hero may be to some, is a villian to others.
But I do agree that you should be respectable with what you have. You had a point when you said that it can become an extension of yourself. But like I said before, at the core you still have a weapon. And weapons are tools of combat. But that doesn't mean that they are to be hated or feared. Nor to be underestimated. Personally, I think only those who possess knowledge and responsibility of such things should ever be allowed to weild them.
