-----There resides a legend of woe and sorrow. Such is that of a hideous monster and the things it will do. As people venture too close to the cave up Apple Core Mountain, where this monster lives, it is apparent that many are never heard from again. Suspicions lead us to believe that this monster is the cause of these dissapearances.
Forward to Emily, our brave little adventurer. Known as the greatest hunter in all our land of Zanzibar, she could give credit to her family of a long line of "supernatural hunters" for being the very best. However, no tradition or value could help prepare her for the catastraphy about to befall her and the life she would leave within the very high caves upon Apple Core Mountain, thanks to the demon that resides there.
Hearing of the many dissapearances, Emily took her mighty sword and shield of silver, and made her way up the steep rocky inclines that make up Apple Core Mountain. Many tests of endurance and skill she experienced during this quest, and each she overcame with ease. She worked far too hard surrounding her life around the idea that "If one learns all that an expert hunter must, then that individual is true perfection.", a quote from her grandfather of high reguards.
Emily knew that she had reached perfection of skill, and would prove so today.
There she stood at the entrance of the cave, her weapon and shield at arms. Her doom apparent even before she begun.
She bravely entered the cave first without assisstance of a light to guide her. "My excellent hunter eyes and ears will guide me through this darkness." said Emily of hunters. Next she forwarded not leaving a trail so as to help her return to the entrance. "My superior hunter mind allows me knowlege of all presence and direction." again said Emily of hunters. Then she took no care to plan the trip's duration, or stop to take a break, allowing her to finish her glorious slaying before nightfall. "With my excellent ability, such a slaying would be completed in as little time as god could allow one." said Emily of hunters a final time.
Then suddenly in the darkness witout warning, a figure with blood red eyes, glowing brighter then any fire one human could make, appeared. "Ah my child..." roared the demon. "You have failed greatly, for a true warrior would know not to talk so loudly in such a place."
Emily swung her sword wildly, but only caught air. "I am not afraid of you vile monster!" yelled Emily in a truely deep and powerful voice belonging only to that of an expert hunter. Allowing her anger to get the better of her, Emily swung her sword in that darkness with such power, she failed to see the pure diamond wall that her sword came in contact with. Instantly her weapon which granted her such a well-knowned warrior status, crumbled to her feet thanks to her own bewildering power.
Emily's wrist had broken due to the whole situation, and she even in her magnificents, could not fight such a demon so badly impaired. So she turned with her shield upon her back, and ran into the darkness. Wall after wall was all that she met while sprinting through the dark narrow maze-like cave. Beaten and bruiced, the great Emily of hunters had no choice but to rest in the darkest part of the cave. "Ha! I know even this demon could not find me in such darkness." thought Emily to herself. But Emily then saw the very pair of red glowing eyes she had hoped to have lost. "You foolish girl, you think I could not find you thanks to the reflective surface of your mirror-like shield? All I had to do was follow my own eyes in such reflection, and I knew you were there." the demon growled. "As well, you had passed the entrance of my home more then three times! It is only thanks to the sudden setting of the sun, and the birth of a new dark moon, that you could not notice the pitched-blackened outside." Emily cowered in terror. As the monster spoke more visiously. "You truely are...the worst hunter I have ever come across. And now your body will host my egg sacks, until they hatch consuming your whole body from the inside out." continued the laughing demon. "Prepare yourself!!!!!" hollered the demon!
Emily, the most powerful hunter in the world, suddenly felt something grasp her weak and limp arm in a terrible grip. This most powerful hunter in the world, was now laying upon the floor of a dark cave crying a flood of tears.
That is when the whole cave suddenly became bright.
It took awhile for her eyes to adjust, but through her reddened globes she saw the demon in all it's entirety. "Grandpa?" Emily whimpered.
Indeed it was Emily's own grandfather present before her. Along with many others, they were all the individuals that went missing just weeks prior. The grandfather looked down at Emily in complete dissapointment.
"Do you not see your problem child? You have such a big mouth, one of which is appropriate to your fat head! You approach this whole situation completely incorrectly. First not lighting the caves, then not leaving a path, and finally not planning ahead ensuring daylight would still be present upon your departure of these caves later. You think so fully of yourself as the greatest hunter our land has to offer, yet you show traits contrary to such a presteged classification. You consentrait so fully on calling yourself the best, hence you are cursed to never LEARN how to be the best. The secret to being the best, is being the best within both body and mind! You train your body to become skillful, and you train your mind so as to know how to use that body. Balance is the answer to all things, for when we lean towards one of the other sides of any equation, we become lost in our own dark cave of ignorance." explained Grandfather to Emily, still holding her own shaking body upon the floor.
The grandfather, worried that Emily was growing into the very worst of hunters, organized a plan to expose Emily's own weaknesses, allowing for her reflection and change. In his infinite wisdom, he planned months in advanced and told only those of whom he could trust entirely of this plan. It seems he once again did what needed to be done for the greater good.
The grandfather motioned others to pick up the physically, and mentally inpaired Emily from where she layed to carry her out of the cave and back to the home town.
Indeed Emily had lost her life to that cave, for the Emily that emerged in the florescent warm glow of the stars was a completely different hunter then the cowardious Emily that remained in that cave. Emily had found late in her life Karma. Balance that would help guide her to become a true hunter amonst hunters. Emily died, only to be reborn again perfection.
For the first time in her life, Emily's grandfather smiled along side of Emily, knowing that the whole world would feel the influence of Emily, and the Demon that killed her at Apple Core Mountain.
The Beginning ((the end))
-the round 7-29-05
-----Once there was a boy with cool and expensive sunglasses. He was walking down his usual road of Alfalfa Street in the land of New York Money Sign. The day was a normal one on the hustle and bustle concrete-covered area known as Alfalfa Street, when he saw three big and tough-looking kids waiting to beat up the local Icecream man in the local Bill Clinton High School parking lot. The boy with sunglasses was so damn cool, he walked right up to those kids and spoke in all his magnificents.
"You guys looking for a good time?" he asked themc unningly and couragiously. "What the f---- did you just say!?" demanded the fattest of the boys.
The boy with the sunglasses smiled. "What I said was, who would like to make a wedger?" he smirked from his lips. The boy with sunglasses picked up a local rock and pointed to a dead kitty, no more then 30 yards away from them. "If anyone of you could hit that cat over there with a rock, then I will give you my ten dollars that I earned picking banana peals off the street. But you too must put forth money to earn the dough! First to hit the cat gets the full pot!" He explained slyly and smoothly from his cool slick 10-year-old lips.
"Hit that dead cat?! That is a simple thing for us strong guys to do. You have a deal!" hollered the smelliest of the three boys. All of the boys gave the kid money and picked up their stones. "Wait! I should go first, my arm has been hurting lately so I should get this over with before it begins to hurt again." explained the boy with sunglasses.
"Heck, you are a shrimp! And with am arm ahurting, it wouldn't really matter. Go ahead you little butt dumpling!" chuckled the dumbest of the three boys.
So, the kid with the sunglasses picked up one of the local stones and looked at the guys laughing so cool-ly, you would swear there were steam radiating off his tongue. With a bit of a dance in his steps, the boy walked over to where the cat layed, and knocked the cat on the forehead right infront of his feet. He smiled as he turned to the boys.
"Looks like I win it all." he pronounced happially.
The boys looked in confusion, and then in anger. "Hey you! Thats unfair! You tricked us! We are bigger and stronger, now we will beat you up real good and........" said one of the boys.
He was cut short, however, because from the side came the icecream truck screetching it's tires and swirving over local school children. He came to a stop next to the kid with sunglasses, where the icecream man then pulled out a t-shirt launcher from his truck.
He looked at the three with his gun loaded with Led Zepplin Tees. "Now you will get a taste of your own medicine for beating me up so much!!" triumpantly laughed the icecream man, as he pummeled over-priced after over-priced tees into the damned boys of three. The icecream man grabbed the kid with the sunglasses and pulled him into the truck, as they made their glamourous get away. He turned to the kid, sweaty from war. "Good job son leading me to them. Plus you got their money, now they will not be able to buy medicine for their grandparents. I am so proud of you my son." said the icecream man smiling to have such a great son.
And so ends our tale, but know that this is not the final tale of the couragious and kunning boy, with his cool and expensive sunglasses.
