Gaia is a protagonist is a story concerning the relationship between the embodied sun (Tanim) and moon (Daren) that I write with my best gal-pal. This character has four major forms- Child, Maiden, Mother, and Crone- with Maiden having dissociative identity disorder (DID), switching between the Virgin and the Vixen. For those of you who are 'in the know', DID is the new "official" term for multiple personality disorder (MPD), and while Gaia, as a whole, may seem to only have DID, but she literally does have four different minds with their own personalities. They share common traits, but they can be considered different entities sharing one body, really, so MPD better describes her on a whole than DID. To make this easier to grasp, she, too, is an embodiment (of the Earth), and her forms are related to those associated with the Lady/Goddess in various (particularly Neo-) Pagan religions.
Thanks to a limited Halloween edit (the Spring Fairy), I was able to bring out the first personality properly. Child is just like a fairy- energetic, happy, and full of mischief. She was the first, and sometimes likes to tote it over the others. In fact, it is because of this youngest being the oldest, she is the only one able to stand up to Crone. However, this doesn't happen often, for she either enjoys the mayhem the fourth personality causes or is too caught up in everyone else's fear. Child is very much about getting what she wants, and her empathy has not fully developed.
She is also the first one to see Daren (the embodiment of the Moon) and, consequently, the one who first fell in love with him. Her love, though can be best described as a young girl's love of an idol, such as a celebrity. In fact, Child thought Daren was so beautiful that she couldn't possibly show herself to him. She felt she was too messy and wild looking for him. The relationship between them is also awkward because she was the one who witnessed the murders of the Moon and Sun.

^With the Queen of Owls premade on the first avatar, I was able to get a version of the Virgin. She's sweet, innocent, and (naturally) wears white. Gaia actually associates herself with owls, having four of them as pets and chooses to use their anatomy in her own transformations.
In the middle, we have regular Maiden, sporting the Revelry. She is the "balanced" personality, and could be considered the "real" one. Though, Virgin and Vixen's perspectives do have merit to them. Characteristic wise, she would be considered a typical teenage girl, who can be sassy, but isn't overly out-there, with a fairly even temperment. She prefers color. razz
To the right in the Witchwood outfit, we have Vixen. She's sensual, lustful, and prefers black. She is also quite a tease, and is at times untrustworthy. However, she likes to not that it's the innocent ones a person should be cautious of: "You know when the mad rave, but you never know when the pure ones will snap."

Here we have Mother. As her name suggests, she is very compassionate and nurturing. She can also be a bit of a nag, especially when it comes to eatting and medicines. Generally, she is very patient, accepting, and forgiving of others, though she can be defensive of her decisions, particularly when they involve the welfare of others.
The dreaded Crone. She represents decay and rot, which is magnifid by her usual lack of eyes. While her cruelty is passive-aggressive, she is generally nasty to anyone she meets, with her wisdom and advice being passed on as insults and stabs. She expects everything to be earned, especially respect; at this time, it is unclear of whether or not she has empathy, let alone love. To compare her to a mortal, she would be the crazy old woman at the end of the street, who lives in the dark, crumbling house and the little children consider to be an evil witch that bakes kids into pot-pies.
