in my dreams i've been many places
on this land i've been only to a few
wonderous places only capable of being seen with children's eyes
those dreams i cherish most
to flee from the real and be in the fantasy
i call love
in those dreams i am held close
in those dreams i am loved the most
in those dreams i am myself
in those dreams i am complete
whole
at one
with myself
when not in those dreams i am
hiddening my true self
from everyone but the one i hold close
my mask of laughing
my mask of hate
my mask of feelings
just to hide away
all those things are ways i protect myself
from harm
from pain
from heartache the most
but when in my dreams i am true to myself and the people around me
i know it may sound funny and weird but in my dreams i am in my quiet place
my happy place
the place i love the most
