hey...listen!
A man halted his trek along thr road to ponder the obscure placement of a precarious and odd looking well. A glance to the left and one to the right indicated that there be no house, farm, or any other establishment that might possibly warrent a well being in its location. But, the man was not a native to the land that he walked through. He had trvelled far from his home on a journey of self discovery and introspection; his home and previous life shunned and preferrably forgotten.

The man was not a man. The man was a wolf, but not. He was a creature. He lived, as do most things that eat, breathe, think, etc. He stood out as something like the two beings that he resembled, yet was not of either. And to this paradox, a name was given. Garu. His people. Gifted they were with instinct yet they were cursed with intelligence. Caught between the paradoxes of their own existance, many had fallen to the tragedy of resigning themselves as beasts, forsaking the burden of self awareness. But with his intelligence, this one resolved to live simply, letting his instinct guide him and reflectingupon his own image of self. To overcome this paradox had been his gaol, and he had achieved it.

This garu, who simply took the name 'Garu' as his own after leaving behind his old one, resolved to not question the well if there was simply no obvious answer. Instead, Garu now was driven by curiosity, having found something that didn't have an obvious answer, and thus was an enigma that was crying out for one. Appeasing the inquiring part of his mind, Garu walked casually over to the well fom his hiding spot on the other side of the rode. Why was Garu hiding? When he heard strange noises that came from out of nowhere except underground, Garu wasn't on the steadiest of nerves to begin with. Creeping ever closer to the well was he. His muscles taught and spring loaded in case anything decided to jump out at him. Garu peered over the edge, timidly at first, but then grew bold as there were no sighns of any immediate danger from around or inside the well. There was, however, a strangeness from inside the well.

Where was the water? There was no water! His eyes adjusted to the dim glow of a...was that a torch at the bottom?! What in the name of The Fates was going on here? a steal rung ladder made its way from the edge of the well down about five feet, to a spiral staircase at the bottom. What a strange land, indeed, to have wells without water such as this! Then the sounds came to him. Voices. Jovial, rowdy, all in all...inviting. He could smeel food and spirits, too! What a place! Suddenly felling weary from his travels and the rather stiff cold wind that had made its presence known, Garu needed no other biding to bodily leap over the edge and drop to the bottom, landing in the entrance of what for all accounts and purposes was, a Bar ten feet under the ground. Garu wondered in, marveling at the splendor of it all. "Marvelous!" Garu exclaimed.
