In the state of Washington, Halloween is widely popular and celebrated each and every year. Sure, some counties try to abolish the holiday for petty reasons but other then that, there seems no decline in popularity.
Especially those darn teenagers. You could always look forward to that annual senior prank at almost in school in the state. Whether it be a simple vandalism of a few toilets or a stolen chicken ridged to the top of a water tower.
It was simply the tradition of Washington. The rainy state provided sophisticated environment and encouragement towards the arts and education but still kept its touch of European culture and views.
When the Brits came to America, they not only stole the land of the Indians but also killed a culture that has been developing for thousands of years. Some of the more northern states kept some of the contempt desire for manifestation hidden in the closet unlike the more ?hic? states.
Washington did as so. This leads to the lives of every Washingtonian. Every citizen was proud to be in the wonderfully wet state. Oh great O? Washington, how we love you so. How could you ever do us wrong?
Yes, apple country was the perfect place to live. No real natural disasters and yet still one of the most visited places in America. Our magnificent space needle stands proud, representing the beauty and sophistication of our people; showing us that there is no limit to life and simplicity is just not an answer.
But then again, how could life ever be simple. Isn?t living hard enough? Spending your entire life keeping yourself alive; built to give birth and multiply. Yes, it is hard to live in ignorance when the entire world spends all its energy proving you wrong and making you feel as much of an insignificant spec as they possibly can.
Living in Washington is a wonderful thing. It is close to perfect but never is anything completely perfect. Life is too complex for everything to fit right into place where it is suppose to be.
This is why things go wrong and don?t work out. There are flaws everywhere around us. They lie in the screwy cars we drive, the faulty wiring in our homes, and even in the unseen tumors small children.
So, why worry about it? Most of the traps we run face-first into everyday are inevitably. Sure, a slip in the shower can be avoided but when it comes to the big stuff, say running from the law, well, then you have a problem.
Only when we are faced with the life-threatening obstacles shall we spend that much time and energy fixing the wrong and imperfect. Such as Jade did when she found out there was cancer growing in her left ventricle.
Jade never noticed until she kept passing out from blood loss. The cancer had blocked up most of the ventricle and only a tiny amount of blood could make its way to the rest of her body. After a while, she would become white and lay down in unconsciousness.
Jade was a violent and hateful person at school. Of course her friends always stood by her side throughout her kimo therapy as they did before Jade had any problems.
Ricole, her best friend, was moving in a few months and so they spent all their time together when they could. She would hold Jade?s hand when she got those painful blood transfusions. It didn?t really hurt physically but Jade just hated getting new blood put into her. She never let a lot of people even get close to her so you could imagine the thought of some b***h?s blood (most likely someone she hated) mixed with her blood.
That shy 10th grader was Jade?s best friend and visa-versa. She had barely anytime for herself but would rather spend it with Jade anyhow.
Others in the group supported Jade in her time of healing and decaying. Tegan would bring flowers every week to Jade?s hospital room. Even though Jade liked the rotted ones, Tegan felt it more appropriate to bring her something more uplifting like lilies or roses.
There were countless others visiting the hospital on more then one occasion. When Vicky wasn?t sucking tongue with her new love, she came and read poems she had written. She had enough to fill a book. Josh came and went even though he really hadn?t known Jade all that well. He, however, didn?t like the people that worked there. Being in a democratic state, he felt it threatening to his beliefs. Josh had become so Republican, it evaporated off of you and if you spent enough time with him, it would infect you.
Day after day, people such as Jingles, Stephanie, and Joe became familiar faces. Jingles wasn?t her real name. After wearing an excessive amount of little annoying bells one year, she would now be now as that annoying sound you hear too often during those winter holidays. It was imperative for her to wear that costume every time a celebration came around and even to school itself.
Stephanie was Jingle?s real name and the name of another friend. This Stephanie had made her self quite the boyfriend. Made is the best word here because no woman finds a guy willing to do anything for his girl. They have to be molded that way. Even despite her small stature, Stephanie wore the pants in the relationship but really didn?t intimidate the others. She was older and perhaps a little wiser than the others.
Joe was a girl all her self. Even though she wore black and red clothing daily, her personality was never threatening or even too odd for others to handle. Of course she had her demons to fight (literally) like any other person but made a good life for herself. She was an overall happy person that just happened to like the daily dose blood and violence with the appropriate amount of bunny-chasing dreams that had always resolved in death.
There were others to bulk up the crowd of friends Jade ?owned? but there was one special child that was different from the rest. Even though Tanya had her share of obsessions and flaws, she mostly held the voice of reason for them all. When Jingles would tell her the plans for world domination she had so neatly sketched out, Tanya would brush her off until she came to her senses and continued to draw again.
Tanya had always wanted peace and love in the world and never believed in the president?s plans to nuke at the sign of a pencil dropping and this is what led to her dislike of Josh. Of course they were friends and got along friends but mention anything politics within a 5 mile radius of them and you would see a cat-fight in progress.
All of these people mixed together would sometimes result in fighting but almost all the times, there was love between them. They would go through a lot together but it wouldn?t always be for the best.
