I'm no fan of Mexico in any way. Though for the first seven or eight years I've lived only a few miles from the border between Mexico and Arizona I had never even been to Mexico, we now have to go every three months. Why, you ask? Because we can't afford to make an appointment to go see an American doctor who will write us an American prescription for overpriced American birth control. We haven't even got enough money to live in a frickin American apartment! So, thank god for at least the possability of getting birth control over the border. Let us compare, shall we?
In America: Doctors Appointment/Prescription -- $100; Birth Control -- $45/month
In Mexico: No Doctors Appointment Needed -- $0; Birth Control -- $16/3 months
See the difference? Every three months we go to Mexico and spend a grand total of $16 instead of $45 every month. It makes no sense. No wonder hundreds of people cross the borders to Mexico and Canada every month to obtain cheaper medication, America capitalizes on old people and makes them spend money they haven't got just to keep alive, while their medication kills them.
Anyhow, today is the day I must venture to Mexico once more in order to get my birth control pills. They work great, it seems, as (though I'm not usually one to talk about this sort of thing) my period is on time every month, and I haven't gotten pregnant yet. Considering that I'm married, yes, that is a very real possability, and if we can't afford American birth control, we definitely can't afford a child in America. *Sigh.*
One more thing, I wonder why, considering it's so cheap to us Americans at least, Mexicans haven't tried this amazing thing called "birth control"? e.e; *Blames Mind of Mencia for this influence to speak like a racist.*
