Vadri was sitting with her back to one of the stone walls, her arms folded over her chest, and her ankles crossed in front of her. Her gaze was alternating between Jak, restlessly pacing, and Daxter, shaking the bars on the cell door and yelling about animal cruelty.

"Would you chill out?" she said.

Daxter left his place at the door to walk over to her. "Chill out? CHILL OUT?! We are in frickin' PRISON in the middle of frickin' WHO-KNOWS-WHERE, and you want me to CHILL OUT?!"

"Prison ain't so bad, after a couple of years. You get used to it," she said.

Daxter started to say something, but was cut off by Vadri as footsteps echoed down the hall. A man a few years younger than the one that arrested them came around the corner. "My brother was following orders when he arrested you," he said. "In a week or so they will decide if you are guilty or innocent."

Daxter returned to the door and pulled himself up on the bars so that he was eye-level with the man. "You're tellin' me that I have to stay in here with HER for another seven days?!"

The man looked at Vadrielith when Daxter pointed to her. She shrugged innocently, silently saying (er... lying), "I have no idea why he doesn't like me."

"And what is wrong with spending a week with her?" the man asked, the light of laughter in his eyes.

"She was in pri-- awck!" Daxter turned to glare at Vadri, who had picked up a small loose stone and thrown it at the back of his head.

"That's quite enough out of you, you little weasel," she said.

"Ottsel."

"WHATEVER!" she stood up and walked over to the barred door. After prying Daxter off of the bars and hissing "Seven days..." in his ear, she smiled sweetly at the man. "Is there any way you could possibly get us out of here sooner than that...?"

"There's no guarantee you will get out."

"But what did we do, anyway?" Jak spoke up for the first time. "We didn't know we were trespassing."

The man shrugged apologetically. "Those are the laws of my father. There is nothing I can do. I am sorry." Then he turned and walked away without so much as a farewell.
