My Pheonix’ Fire


Why must this phoenix
Always have to mix
My ideas and fears
With thoughts of peers?

How can I say:
“Why don’t you stay?”
When you always stray?

I don’t want you to fall
When there is this squall,
I don’t want to keep you by force,
But I don’t want to feel remorse…

Because why must this phoenix
Always have to mix
My ideas and fears
With thoughts of peers?

You’re the first I could trust
And now you must…
You must stay.
Your kindness is spirit
And my mind never throws a fit
When I’m with you
And it clears my mind and makes the skies blue.

I’m in peril
So don’t leave me to marvel
Because already I’m stalling
And my mind is falling.
Please, don’t let this phoenix disillusion me
It may seem like a small fee
But with you it’s a universe
That is quite diverse.
But without you,
Everyone is the same…

This pheonix’ fire burns
It turns
Then the hope filled dragon
And a gentle fawn
Whisper to me:
“There is no fee
When you weep or when you wish.
You can dream
And you can scream,
but there is no fee.”

You came back…
So now I don’t need to weep
When I sleep.
You,
You’re the whisper in the darkness
The wind in the desert
The rain on a forest fire.
You’re the butterfly on the beach,
The star that smiles,
The child that catches me
When I’m the last leaf to fall…
