My dad is a High School Teacher (the shame) and he was taking his students to Thailand to help one of the Isan villages there....but what with the whole military coo thingo he decided to stay at Singapore instead.
While there he decided to buy a digital cammera for my mum (the poor misguided man), and went straight to an electronic goods store. I am sorry to say that dad has absolutly NO IDEA OF LOCAL CULTURE AT ALL. Instead of haggling, dad gave the salesman the starting price straight away. The poor salesman (not wanting to take advantage of my slightly dim father) kept trying to get him to haggle but to no avail.
Dad got back last night. There was no cammera.
