I used to be able to post things I'd hope for in Gaia without fear of ot turning into a rumor, so I will let anyone know who's reading this...
THIS IS ONLY A WISHLIST OF SORTS. I DON'T KNOW OF THIS AS FACT.
Not that anyone's actually thought stuff I've said since I've been mod is actually going to occour, but I figured I'd n** this thing in the bud before anything happens.

Anyway... on with the journal entry...

I've been hoarding trash and flowers. For a while I wasn't sure why. Just collecting them to collect them. "Eh, I'm bored, what the hell, I'll pick them all up." I already have all the paper hats and I haven't been too interested in making more bouquets, so these things sit in my inventory.

I am, of course, turning bugs into inks (I finally got to make gold ink a little while ago. Go me! whee ) and I am saving up the cans and boots I find along with the ones I fish to eventually get myself the tin cap and the patchwork boots. Just 289 more boots and 3,788 more cans to go. sweatdrop But that's because I end up taking these long break periods from fishing and I filter because I'm still collecting for fish items... oh yeah, and I'm not buying the cans and boots. I'm doing it the hard way.

And then I finally got an idea of what these items might be used for in the future. Collecting for paper hats and bouquets doesn't take that long(unless you're trying to get every possible different variation of bouquet(which would be a very long and expensive quest(unless you don't care about ink colors, in which case, it won't take nearly as long))), so I figured there'd be more use for them, like how they came out with those new fish items recently) Maybe more hats. Maybe flower arrangements for your house.

The biggest thing i think they could be used for is in the quest system. It was stated long before the game item exchange systems that you'd collect the parts and assemble the item for which you were questing. Well... this exists now in a small part. Many of the newer fish items require you to collect different types of fish to exchange for one item. The bugs for inks allow you to turn bugs into inks using different bugs as well as allow you to "mix" inks to make other colors. Even two of the common colors (brown and green) can be made from other inks. Flowers are a slightly different process, but you still need the three parts for a large bouquet if you want the wrapping to have color. So, the quest system already exists on a small scale.

Er... but what if these very items could also be used in the quest system. Certianally, if this is how the quest system will work, then there will be quest game items to collect in exchange for special items, why not throw in some of the existing game items into the mix? Then there's a reason to hoard; there's a reason to go back to towns and keep collecting these items that, at current rate, aren't worth much more than half a gold.

And who knows... I may be right on the money with this, in which case, I will be very pleased. Or, hell... if all they do is add more paper items to exchange trash for, I'll be happy. But happier if they hold quest system values. 3nodding

And remember... I'm only a dedimod, not an admin or a developer, so I have no insight on how it's really going to work. wink
