My sleep comes to me like an unwelcome burden forcing my eyelids to give up their strength and to succumb themselves to dreamland.
In my sleep I toss and turn , my frail body being flung from side to side as if waves of violent emotions have taken over me.
My dreams begin, my heart races to the fluttering movements of my eyelids deep in sleep.
The terror starts but at the same time it's never ending. As the dreams come I sense that I am awake, I am not.
I am in deep REM sleep recalling the horror of the days events. All my emotions flooding my dreams.
Asleep and dreaming, I cry. It is surreal as the tears come.
I wonder how can I be crying if I am asleep ? Is this dreamland my reality now ?
It can not be I tell myself. I must wake up. I can not .
My eyelids feel like they have been sealed forever leaving me to suffer in this nightmare.
As the night goes on I pray for an end to my fears.
I call out, "Help me , someone, anyone !"I cry with all of my inner strength but my words are silent .
No one can hear my desperate cries in dreamland . I want desperately to wake up .
Again I cry out for help . This time I cry to God begging for mercy .
Have mercy on me , Oh God . Give me rest.
In a moment after calling to God, He hears my cries for help and a bright white light envelopes me .
It feels like peace . I enter into the light, an angel appears and takes my hand .
I follow him . As the light gets brighter and stronger we go farther into it, filling me more and more with a quiet stillness and a peace I've never known .
The angel leads me to lay down .I do .
As I lay down my eyelids give up their strength and succumb themselves to dreamland allowing me to peacefully fall asleep .
