Well, cats and kittens, we've just gone live with ranked topic voting.
I'm split on this one. I know why they spent the time coding and working on this feature-- making fun, informative threads available instantly sounds like a good idea, and allowing the users to pick and choose what's featured in their community is a good idea. But I also know the users. Prommies will be all over this, people will feed other users to the proverbial lions with this, and it may just bring out the worst in people. I want to much to have faith in the devs, because they've worked so hard on this and their intentions are the best, but I feel like we may have shot ourselves in the foot with this. I feel extra-guilty saying that for a number of reasons I won't get into here, but that's my big worry.
How about all of you guys? Thumbs down and we live, or thumbs up and limbs get gnawed off?

And now for something completely different...
...or as different as a damned blog can be, anyway. It started out as a project, it devolved into a chronicling of my misanthropy, rage, and occasional fits of glee. It sounds good, though, and might even make you laugh.

Of course, knowing some, they'd complain for the sake of complaining, but they don't count.
