Faramir opened his eyes and stared at the ceiling. His body ached all over. He had remembered waking up earlier, as well, but where was he? He turned his head and saw Tepeu sitting in a chair, asleep, her chin resting on her chest. She wasn't wearing her chain mail anymore, but she wasn't exactly wearing a gown, either. Rather, she was wearing a loose tunic and trousers. She stirred slightly and woke, and smiled as she saw Faramir looking at her. They sat there in silence, communicating with words unspoken.
"We thought we'd lost you," she said at last.
"You almost did," he said, then he paused. "...I saw you. I- I thought I was going to die, and memories came flooding back all at once... mostly of you and my brother."
She smiled slightly and stood, walking over to him and kissing his forehead. "I'm here now," she said. She straightened up and said, "I have to check on my other patients... but I'll be back."
After she left, Faramir stayed in bed for a short while, but soon grew bored. He got up, wincing slightly, and walked around, for no particular reason, going towards the courtyard.
Eowyn, who was also in the Houses of Healing with a broken arm, had also gotten out of bed and walked to her window. Looking down into the courtyard, she saw Faramir standing near a tree, looking slightly distracted. His attention was suddenly grabbed by someone yelling at him.
Tepeu walked through the corridors, checking on her patients, making sure they were comfortable and doing fine. While passing through an open corridor, she happened to look down into the courtyard and see Faramir. "Hey! Faramir! You're supposed to be resting!" she called down to him. He made a gesture of pushing her comment away, and went back to his pondering.
Tepeu walked into Eowyn's room next. "Oh, my lady," she said, seeing Eowyn out of bed, "you're the second patient that's out of bed who shouldn't be."
"Oh, that was you yelling to him?" Eowyn asked, her gaze returning to Faramir.
Tepeu walked over and stood next to Eowyn, looking down at the courtyard as well. "Yes, that was me yelling," she said. "We almost thought we had lost him. His father sent him on a suicide mission to Osgiliath." She yelled again, "Faramir! Get back in bed! You shouldn't be walking around!!"
"I'm not walking," he replied, "I'm standing!"
"Ere regardless! Get back to bed!"
He rolled his eyes but did as she asked.
Eowyn watched him go. "You know him personally, I take it?" she asked.
"Yes, we grew up together in this city. My brothers were friends with his brother. ...He was always there for me, and now I'm here for him. Funny how that works, isn't it?"
"Oh, yes, interesting..."
