Welcome to Earth...
Chapter Fifteen
Tears in her eyes, Tepeu sank to her knees as Faramir walked away. "Mithrandir," she whispered, "I have to find Mithrandir!" She rose to her feet and ran through Minas Tirith, ignoring the guards crying after her to stop. "Mithrandir!" she cried, "Mithrandir! Gandalf!!"

She soon found him, just as Faramir and his men were riding out of Minas Tirith. "Mithrandir! Faramir is riding to his death! You must stop him!"

Gandalf turned to her and listened to her cries.

"Please, Mithrandir, talk him out of it! Make him stay! ...I love him."

"I will do what I can," the Wizard said. And with that, he ran through the crowds. "Faramir! Faramir! Your father's will has turned to madness!"

"Where does my allegiance lie, if not here?" Faramir asked. He did not look at the Wizard, but stared straight ahead. He knew he was riding to his death, but the prospect of being held in higher honor in the eyes of his father drove him onward.

"Faramir, you cannot go! Those who love you would rather die themselves than see you dead."

Faramir paid no more heed to the Wizard, and rode onward with his men. When Gandalf returned to Tepeu, he found her in an alleyway, sitting on her knees, sobbing.

"This is not the end, Tepeu. He may yet return."

She looked up at him, her grey eyes showing only sorrow, but for a small light of hope buried deep within them. "Do you believe that?" she asked. "Truly?"

He placed a hand on his shoulder and gave her a small smile, to show that he had hope, but his eyes were filled with despair.

Tepeu, as a very young girl, sat in the streets of Minas Tirith, weeping. She had never wept so hard her entire life: her mother had just died of a sickness. She was, however, excused from her studies in etiquette for the week to grieve.

"Tepeu?"

She looked up. Faramir was standing there looking down at her. She hastily wiped her tears from her cheeks as he sat in front of her.

"I heard what happened, and I'm sorry," Faramir said quietly to her. Then he hugged her, saying, "But you'll always have your father, and brothers, and Boromir, and me."

And me...

Those words came back to her now. Faramir was all she had left. Her father and brothers were dead: killed in battle, as was Boromir. The sorrow in her eyes was replaced by a burning anger. I will not lose him, she thought to herself, resolutely. I will not be left to face this world alone!
