The surgery last summer was a ... kind of success? I have full use of my thumb and hand, and the pain is significantly lowered! However, half of my thumb is permanently numb.
You know the feeling when your leg is "asleep?" It's that all day and all night.
There's not much that can be done, according to the doctor's office. If it's really bothering me, they can go in and take out the hardware (and undo the work they did??) to see if that lessens pressure on the nerves.
I won't be doing that.
I'd rather have the working hand and numb thumb than no hand at all
