Sora sat in his office, looking through several documents at once. "What are we doing wrong...?" he quietly asked himself, frowning slightly.
The door opened, and Zola walked in, frowning much more than he was, "Vhat are ve doing wrong?!" she yelled, slapping her hands down on the desk.
He looked up at her, a confused look on his face, "What do you mean?"
"I mean; ve have only succeeded in killing one of our targets! Zhat Destiny girl zhat captive boy likes is still alive, nosy police officer partner girl is still alive, AND zhere are still more!" she said, throwing her arms up.
Sora smiled, almost laughing. "Zola, you need to relax. We'll get them all eventually. Actually..." he trailed off.
"Vhat is it?" she asked, crossing her arms and raising a single eyebrow.
"Our next target is Robert Yasashimi. And I know you're a hands-on type of person. So d'you want to handle this one?" he asked, standing up and placing all the files in a desk drawer.
Zola grinned, "Of course! Shall I tell captive boy?" she asked, motioning to the door.
"Do what you see fit. This is your job" he smiled.
Tanoshii had finally finished crying over Destiny, and sat on his own in a corner of the white room. His eyes were bloodshot and his black hair fell over his face. Because he hadn't seen sunlight for weeks, he was rather palid. To anyone who walked into the room at that moment, he would have looked dead.
The door opened, and Zola walked in. He heard her take a breath to say something, but she stopped.
He looked up at her, a look of utter despair on his face.
"C-captive boy...I 'ate to ask, but...vhat is wrong?" she asked, kneeling down in front of him, looking concerned.
"I...I suppose..." he stammered, "it's because I...probably will never see Destiny, ever again. And that thought has broken...no...ripped my heart to shreds" he sighed, looking away from her.
She sighed heavily; out of all the hostages she'd ever taken, he was the one she had to have a crush on. Just being around him made her spirits life. He made her feel like she had hope, when she knew there was no hope for her. She took his hand, and he looked back at her. "Tanoshii..." she said softly.
He paid attention instantly, as he knew it must be important. She NEVER used his real name.
"...I know how you feel. But...trust me. You vill see her again, I promise" she said, smiling slightly.
"How am I supposed to trust you, after all you've done to me?" he asked bitterly.
"I suppose zhere is no reason for you to ever forgive me. And I know zhat you shouldn't trust me. But please believe me vhen I say zhat you vill see her again" she said, making direct eye contact with him.
For a moment that seemed to last an eternity, he stared into her eyes, searching for the truth. Finally, he found it. "I...I believe you" he said quietly.
She smiled, "Okay. I am glad zhat you believe me" she said, standing up. "I 'ave somevhere I need to be. But I vill be back later. I may act mean tovards you, but I don't mean it" she said, walking out.
"Bye, Zola" he said.
"Bye, captive boy" she said, winking at him before closing the door.

Annelise felt so alone the next morning on her beat. She was so terribly lost without someone by her side that Yasashimi agreed to walk with her. It was a rather boring day, fairly quiet, so as they walked they discussed Destiny.
"Do you think she misses being on patrol?" Annelise asked airily.
Yasashimi laughed, "Of course she misses it! She misses everything about life outside the sterile walls" he said, rolling his eyes.
"Yeah, you're probably right" she said, smiling.
"I know I am" he said smugly.
For a moment they walked in silence, before suddenly there was a pair of footsteps behind them. Neither of them looked, because that would've been suspicious.
"Whoever they are, they're female" Annelise whispered.
"How can you tell?" Yasashimi asked.
"She's wearing heels" she smirked.
"On three, we turn around" he said, "...one, two...three"
They both turned around, but there was no one there.
"What...?" Annelise asked, raising her eyebrows
They both turned back, and jumped backwards as they came face to face with a rather short, pale girl with black hair and extremely deep blue eyes.
"Umm...hello" Annelise said nervously.
"What can we help you with, ma'am?" Yasashimi asked, bowing politely to her.
She sighed heavily, and reached into the pocket of her rather short, white skirt. "You can only help by giving zhis to Destiny Migoto" she said, in a Russian accent, handing Yasashimi a sealed white envelope.
They both looked down at it simultaneously, and Annelise looked back up and gasped. "She's gone" she said, her eyes wide.
"And she was working for Abunai" Yasashimi said solemnly, holding up the envelope.
Annelise looked carefully at it, and noticed that the whole thing was covered in the mysterious symbols of Abunai, almost as though the whole envelope was water-marked. "Should we give it to Destiny?" she asked.
He looked at it carefully. "First we should get it scanned. You never know for sure" he said.
After the scan came up clean, Annelise and Yasashimi headed towards the hospital with the mysterious envelope. They came to Destiny's room, and knocked on the door.
"Destiny, are you awake?" Annelise called.
"I'm awake but I'm not happy about it!" she called back, as they opened the door. "Hey Annelise, hey Yasashimi. What brings you here in the middle of a work day?" she asked, looking up at them.
"We bring...whatever this is" Annelise said, handing Destiny the mysterious envelope.
She took it, looking at it suspiciously. "Are you sure this is safe?"
"Absolutely sure" Yasashimi said.
Destiny shrugged and ripped open the envelope carefully, so as not to majorly disturb her arm. She unfolded the letter, and read.
'Destiny Migoto,
My name; not important. All I will say about myself is that I work for Abunai. This morning I was assigned to take out your Lieutenant Robert Yasashimi. And as I always do, I went to tell my favourite hostage, Tanoshii Yamato. Rather than tormenting him with that information, though, I found him sitting in the corner of his room rather lethargically. At first I thought he was dead, but when he looked up at me I knew better. For days he had been crying, for reasons unbeknownst to me. When I asked him what the matter was, he told me that, because he would most likely never see you again, that his heart had been ripped to shreds. And I told him that he would see you again. But I myself do not know if that is true. I have had a change of heart. I cannot disobey direct orders from Abunai, Destiny, so I may have to kill you. And then again, I may have to kill him. But that is only if you interfere with our plans, Miss Migoto. If I have to kill Tanoshii, or kill you and see him suffer, my own heart will implode. Therefore I hope you understand what is at stake whenever you find information on Abunai, or are present at one of the bombings or invasions. Please, for your sake and for Tanoshii's, do not interfere any further'
Destiny finished reading, her eyes wide and her mouth slightly open.
"What does it say, Destiny?" Annelise asked curiously.
"Wow...I just...I don't..." she stammered, still shocked.
"Oh don't worry Migoto. We didn't want to know anyways!" Yasashimi said, rolling his eyes.
"M-my...my poor Tanoshii!" Destiny finally burst out, starting to cry.
"Why?" Annelise asked, gasping loudly, "Did they kill him?!"
"No they didn't kill him! He's just really really depressed and they don't want to kill him but they might have to if Abunai tells them to but that's only if I'm interfering but that's my job! I'm SO confused!" Destiny cried, burying her face in her pillow.
"Oh..." Yasashimi said quietly.
"Aww! Poor Tanoshii! I never even knew him and now I'm sad!" Annelise said sadly, putting an arm around Destiny's shoulders, "Don't worry sweetie. We'll figure somehting out, I know we will" she said comfortingly.
Destiny stopped sobbing into her pillow, and looked at her, currently, best friend. "Thanks Annelise! I trust you" she said, smiling.
"You can count on me, Destiny" Annelise grinned.
Afterwards, Yasashimi and Annelise left Destiny alone with her thoughts and her mysterious letter.
"So...how do you think this will work out?" Annelise asked, looking up at Yasashimi
Yasashimi was silent, staring straight ahead.
She bit her lip, "It's not going to be good, is it?" she asked nervously.
He shook his head, and sighed, "No, it's not good. There really isn't a way to track them. We're really just going to have to give up on Yamato. We can't afford to leave Migoto out of the picture. If it happens, it happens and Yamato dies. But it's a sacrifice we're going to have to make" he explained.
Annelise gasped for the second time in as many minutes, her eyes wide. "We're just going to let him die?!" she asked loudly.
"Colfer, don't take this the wrong way. When you've been on the force as long as I have you know that one officer compared to several isn't that big of a deal"
Annelise shook her head, "But it IS a big deal! This is my best friend's best friend on the line! And my best friend's happiness! What good is Destiny when she's not happy and active?! Yasashimi, Sir, you really are throwing away two officers when you do this!" she said incredulously.
Yasashimi stopped walking, and she turned on him. "Colfer...I know how Destiny would feel. And it's not something I would want to do, either. But we really don't have a choice. Yamato was my best beat officer. He had a brilliant future ahead of him. And I admit that I'm really going to miss his upbeat attitude and help around the force. But...we just can't find them. Its's a wild goose chase" he said sadly.
"Oh..." Annelise said quietly.
Yasashimi simply nodded.
"I'm sorry Sir. I didn't know you felt the same way" she said.
"It's okay, Colfer. I know how concerned you are" he said.

Zola wandered back rather dejectedly. She met Sora in the hallway, and he frowned slightly. "Zola...you didn't kill him, did you?" he asked.
"No, I couldn't" she said shortly.
"Oh? And why is that?" he asked curiously.
"Because...captive boy filled my 'ead vith such veak zhoughts. I need to 'ave a vord vith him" she said, continuing trudging down the hallway miserably.
Sora watched her go, and shook his head, "And to think that she was in such a good mood this morning"
Zola opened the door, walked in, and closed it again, sitting on the floor heavily.
"Zola?" Tanoshii asked, looking up at her.
"Yes" she said softly.
He sat up, as he had been lying flat on the floor, and edged over to her. "What's the matter?" he asked concernedly.
"I am going soft, Tanoshii. And it's all because of you" she said, smiling slightly.
"What d'you mean?" he asked, raising his eyebrows.
"I mean zhat...vell, it is almost like Stockholm's syndrome...but zhe other vay around. I like my captive" she explained.
"Oh...well..." he said, blushing slightly.
"Vhat is it?" she asked.
"Come here" he said, wrapping his arms around her.
"Vhat are you doing?" she asked nervously.
"It's called a hug, Zola. You looked like you needed one. didn't you?" he said, smiling at her.
"Yes, Tanoshii...I suppose I did" she said, smiling back at him.
"Did you kill him?" he asked softly.
"Kill who?" she asked, not paying much attention.
"Sora told me that you were going to kill Yasashimi. Did you?" he asked.
"No...I couldn't. You 'ave turned me soft, remember? It's quite...strange. No other captive I 'ave ever had has had such an effect on me. You give me hope, Tanoshii. And I know zhere is no hope left for me. I vish zhat zhere vas somezhing I could do to redeem myself now. But zhere is nozhing I can do. I'e killed so many people...zhey'll never let me go if zhey ever caught me" she explained.
Tanoshii paused to think for a moment. "Well, there could be something I can do" he said.
"Like vhat?" she asked, looking up at him.
"Like...I can pull some strings. I can refer you. Testify for you. The way you explained it to me, it seems like there couldn't be anyone who wouldn't believe you" he said, smiling.
Her face brightened, "You vould do zhat for me?" she asked hopefully.
He nodded, "But only if you don't kill me"
She rolled her eyes, "Now zhat is really not my choice. Vhy? Because Abunai controls me. If I do not follow zhrough vith such orders, she vill kill me. Right on zhe spot. She has zhat kind of power over us. Over all of us" she explained.
"She? Abunai is a person?" Tanoshii thought, frowning slightly.

Destiny waited patiently, though she was starting to forget why. When the door to her room opened, she remembered why.
The nurse, Tsuki, walked in, smiling as usual.
"So, Tsuki! What's up?" she asked, grinning.
"Not so good news, Destiny" Tsuki said, skimming over the papers on her clipboard.
"Oh?" Destiny asked, raising her eyebrows.
"We're going to have to re-break your arm" Tsuki said.
"What? Why?" Destiny asked, looking confused.
"Because it isn't healing properly on it's own, so we're going to re-break it, and get in there with the laser. But after we do that you can go home the next day. Does that sound better than waiting for it to heal enough to leave naturally?" Tsuki explained.
Destiny rolled her eyes, "I suppose. So when does this happen?" she asked.
"now" Tsuki said, smirking.
Destiny suddenly found herself incredibly nervous, "Now? W-why now? Why not later?" she asked nervously.
"Because now is your only chance. Plus you get to go back to work tomorrow if you do" Tsuki said.
"Oh...fine" Destiny said stubbornly.
"But we have to knock you out first. It's going to be fairly painful so you have to be unconcious" Tsuki said, walking out of the room momentarily.
Destiny bit her lip; she did not like the painful part.
Tsuki walked back in, and took Destiny's wrist. "Brace yourself" she said, grimmacing. She didn't enjoy the anaethetic part of her job, which she was taught when she was in school.
Destiny closed her eyes, looking away. But that didn't stop the sharp pain in her wrist when Tsuki stuck in the IV needle. "Ouch!" she said loudly, flinching.
"Big baby...!" Tsuki said, flicking her.
"Hey, you're not the one getting the needle" Destiny said, frowning at her.
"Sweet dreams, Destiny. Though they probably won't be" Tsuki said sweetly, walking out of the room.
Destiny settled back, watching the IV drip steadily. "This isn't going to be fun" she muttered, pursing her lips sourly.
