"When the elephants fight it is the grass that suffers."
-Nigerian Proverb
-Nigerian Proverb
This is common knowledge, right? I've always 'known' this to be true. Whenever combatting countries fight, it's always the lower-medium classes that suffer from it. Always. Whenever me and my brother fight, my siblings suffer. Whenever gods or roleplay characters fight against one another, our keyboards suffer from being beaten by our fingers over and over.
But why does this proverb beat itself into my mind now? It seems to be really.. Hard? Harsh? Carved in stone? Hm. It's like it's completely true, and unable to be removed in any way because it's been proved over, over, and over again. It's a fact of life.
I guess that's why it's a proverb. And why it's bothering me so much, too.
