Well im mighty proud of myself i have started the second chapter of my novel. please do read and tell me what u think.
Chapter 2
I dragged the moped on the towel once more and stowed it quietly in the garage. Creeping up stairs I checked my parents’ room. “Still asleep,” I whispered. Now breathing easier I walked to my room and slipped beneath the sheets. “Blasted a/c,” I said to myself, “house is freezin’ cold.” The house being cold made for a fitful sleep once more. Just when the temperature evened out, and I felt like maybe I could get two hours of sleep in……my alarm went off. Destiny’s Child’s “Bug a Boo” was blaring through out the room, and I just gave up.
“SCREW IT!!” I yelled, “FINE YOU WIN!!” I looked up at the ceiling trying to figure out who the crap I was talking to. I went to my closet to get dress and realized that I was already clothed. I grabbed my phone. “Eight of the clock. Dang it!” I was mad. It was summer vacation and I still woke up at eight. What I couldn’t sleep in ‘til nine at least? I flip the mobile open and called up Niki.
“Hello?” It was Niki’s groggy voice on the phone.
“Niki? Girl get up. This is an emergency.” She seemed to be more alert.
“What’s up?”
“Call La Toya and I’ll get Alicia on the phone. Let’s meet at the park.”
“What time?”
“Ten.” Click. I hung up. I was not in a good mood. I scrolled through the names on my cell. La Toya Fields.
What I loved about calling La Toya’s cell was the fact that she had waiting music that changed each month. So as Cherrish’s “Do it To it” played in my ears I calmed down.
“Yo,”
“La Toya?”
“Yeah,”
“Hey. Girl meet me at the park at ten got it? Don’t be late. And don’t say you’re busy cuz I know you aint.” She heaved a sigh.
“I’ll try.”
“See you at ten.” Click. Alright I thought, breakfast. I jumped the stairs to the kitchen. “Morning ma.” I kissed her on the cheek and sat on a stool.
“I see you’re feeling better,” she smirked, “What you want for breakfast?”
“Hmmmmm…..Grits please. Grits, bacon, and toast.” I said stomach grumbling.
“And eggs?”
“Yeah, eggs.” I twiddled my thumbs, “Hey, can I go to the park at ten?”
“Sure,” she paused, and cocked her eyebrow, “What for?”
“Just to hangout. This is my last week free before I go to Barbie school.” She laughed heartily.
“Wanna go to China town this weekend?”
“Yeah why not. It’s not like I’ll do anything fun for a month.”
“Eat your food,” she pushed a steaming plate in front of me.
