"Yey. Time for me to post my longest journal entry of my trip!" A red head girl anounced to her inadimant computer.
"really... I guess you finnally found time for it right Nef?"
"yeah.. I've been alittle lazzy for the past few days. But hey, I've quit my first job, and I'm geting ready for a trip tomarow."
"You're leaving me?" a blue haired man yelled, demanding a reson.
"Well duh. I hate you, first off, and secondly.... God how I hate to admit this..."
"What, you're looking forward to this trip."
"No in all honesty Stleale. I rather go on a date with that nimrod then go on this trip."
"That can be aranged." The man comented slyly.
"Really, that bad?" The Dragon over voiced him.
"yeah that bad... not my cousin I mean. That's why I'm going... It is her wedding and all, but It's my grandmother that's the problem... she kinda doesn't get who I am. She thinks I'm a goody girl who wears pink all of the time."
"No way... and when was the last time you saw her?"
"two years ago, and the last time we visited was four years ago. I walked out on her in an argument and my father got an earfull because of it... She's just too controling."
"Damn..."
"Anyway.. on with the journal!"
Day 7; June 16th Friday
Weee! What a day! I don't think I've ever had so much fun! Today was a farm day and I wasn't really exspecting it to be a 'fun day' but it really was! Okay, the bus ride there was boring, but the rest of the trip wasn't
Okay, so we get to the farm (acctually we went pasted it and turned around) and we were all filled into a back room in the barn, smelled like a chicken coop. Anyway we started off making Soda Bread, which I had tried before, and it tastes like corn bread to me. Cris and I had a bit of fun, because we had been talking about FFVIIAC and actually wrote "Don't Cry Laus" into the bread, cuz we were just that bored (and didn't know how to spell his name). Very punchy mood.
After the bread making we stepped back into the Barn room we had been in before and learned a quick step irish dance. Started off with a front-2-3, front-2-3, back-2-3, back-2-3, and repeat, the shuffle; side-2-3-4-5-6-7, 1-2-3, and back; side-2-3-4-5-6-7, 1-2-3. Then we did this twerl thing thing for a while with the guy in front of us, and then back in line and front-2-3, front-2-3, back-2-3, back-2-3, back-2-3, front-2-3, fron-2- and under the arms, and start from the begining. A relitivly simple dance.
After dancing we headed off to the back field to try some Hurrling, wich is kinda like Field Hocky and Baseball mixed together. I could bearly hit the ball, let alone pick it up the way you were supost to.
As soon as we had finished a distance chucking we were asked to go out into the cow field and retrave cow #64... but not before we had bacome and tried an exsperamnet, we all heald hands together and one person reached out and grabed the electric fence... need I say more.
Anyway, about 15 kids went after this cow, hunting it down, trying to get it to move in the direction we wanted it to; and not have it run into the electric fence we had just tested out. Succeding finally after running through cow pies for twenty minutes, it was time for lunch- aftre we washed our hands; alot- which was a simple sandwich buffet,
It was now time to learn how to try the Irish drum, or the proper way at least. Aparently we learned alot quiker then some other groups. It was siple, just hold the drum like you would hold a child on your knee, sideways and hold the drumstick like a pin, witht he ball facing you, and jst skim the skin of the drum.
Then it was off to the bog! A place that is kinda like a prarrie ground but not. it is really a shalow lake that shrubbery gets preshered into, so it is wet everywhere and the ground is really ferm when you walk on it, but when you jump it's like a trampoline. Well after learning about the bog itself we heard of its use as a fuel sorce and lychens. We truped alittle fearther into the bog itself to find a 'muddy' area. I was one of only four people willing to jump/dive into the muddy area, as wella s the only girl. I was covered from my sholders down in mud when I was done. I did a dive first, then a cannon ball, that was the one that had be up to my neck inthe stuff. At the end the 'boggers' did a grand finally and all jumped in at once. Everyone loved it. The only down side was I had to change desperatly afterwards, and hadn't brought anything but a shirt to change into... The people at the farm were nice and found these old 80's pants, they told me to burn them after I got my own set later.
I missed out on soda bread because of the washing I needed to do, but i made it for the party. I joined in with the dancing and let evryone else take hold of the entertaiment. The twins sung a Swahilli song, Then it was Irish dancing and more singing. Britney O. borrowed a violin and played and Irish John tried some break dancing.
We got back to our hotel around 6pm for dinner, only to find out dinner wasn't till 7. But we wanted the bloody dinner so we could go shoping. Which was a blow out anyway cuz they didn't have a music store and the book store that was there had a crappy selection to chose from.
Well, Tis bed time.
"and that is it!"
"Really is long... but..."
"I know isn't as long as people may think."
