Okay. I have sewing lessons tonight. For the FIRST time! o: Lyke omg. xD It was actutally really fun. My teacher, Nancy, or Miss Nancy? I dunno really what to call her (xD) is really nice. :3 Today I threaded my machine for practice, and put in the bobbin, too. I also got to start working on my bag (that's what I'm making). I cut out the patterns, and then pinned them to the fabric, and then cut it out. It was rather fun really. And all that happened in an hour. o: It so totally flew by. It was crazy! I loved it. And I can't wait for next week. n.n I'm suppose to practice, too. Like threading and bobbin stuff. So remind me! xD You probably won't though... because no one reads my journal. @.- Just one last thing. I didn't actutally sew at sewing lessons. xDD I just thoguht I'd tell you that. xD

Anyway, I told myself I need to type/write what I did, so then if I want to make another bag I'll remember. So this is really for me, not you. xD :

1. Look, and see which number pattern thingy you'll need for your specific item.

2. Cut out the numbers that you need, does not need to be perfect.

3. Layout all the patterns on your fabric to make sure you have enough room.

4. Pin the patterns to your fabric, but don't get in the way of the cutting line.

5. Get FABRIC scissors and cut along the lines of the patterns.

6. While the pattern is still pinned, mark with a pencil all little dots onto the fabric.

7. Unpin the pattern from the fabric.

DO ON "BAD" SIDE OF FABRIC:
8. Take a pin, and near the bottom, see the triangle of dots? Poke a pin through the bottom two, so it goes in one, and out the other.

9. Fold the fabric, to the middle dot is on the line that you folded, and then pin off to the side, and above the dots.

10. Connect the bottom dots to the top dot, you can use a ruler and pencil.

11. Start at one of the dots, make sure the fabric is still folded, and sew to the other dot. (That is called darting)

12. Take about a quarter inch off from the corner.

13. Press the darts, so that on the "bad" side of the fabric you can see the "good" side of the fabric. (Tip : cut a little more off vertically)

14. Pin the fabric so that the ends meet, we are still on the "bad" side. (Tip : if the fabric is striped, match up the stripes, and alter the sewing dots in the corners to fit if needed.)

15. Start at the dot in the corner, and sew up. You can use the lines on the sewing machine to help. Take the pins out BEFORE you get ot them. (Tip : Make sure the needle is down before taking out a pin. It keeps the fabric in place.)

16. Take the fabric that was cut out with pattern 7, and pin it to the opening at the bottom (the side with the dart/corners), and pin the flat sides, and line the curves up somewhat. Make sure that the "bad" side of the bottom is sew so you see it when you have the bag inside out.

17. Sew the flat sides, but NOT the curves.

18. Put the stich length to 4ish. Then, sew the around the curve, staying the same distance away. Backstich at only ONE end (when you start) (Tip : Draw a line so it is easy to follow.)

19. Pull the end threads where it has not been backstitched to gather the fabric.

20. Then pin the ends to the actutal bag. Be careful, take your time so you don't show too much bunching. So, really you are trying to get the fabric to look as straight as you can.

21. Sew up the curves. Be careful not to sew the other fabric to the ends. (Tip : follow the line from gathered fabric)

22. Hem the top.

23. Pin the liner inside the other, outer fabric.

24. Fold down the outer fabric, you may need/want to cut some off the end.

25. Put the double-stick stuff that Nancy used under the fold, so it's touching both the outside and the liner.

26. Iron the double-stick stuff. Make sure you iron it all, becareful not to have the iron on too hot, or not to leave it on too long.

27. Peel off the doulbe-stick stuff. It should NOT rip up the fabric. If it does, put it back on, and iron some more. Do it slowly so you do not do the later.

28. Carefully fold down the top thingy, so that it's nice and straight. Then it will stick to the liner, and keep them both in place.

LINING:
1. Pick out fabric to go with your bag, and get enough to fit two 5 patterns, and one 7 pattern on it. (You'll need less than a yard)

2. Repeat bag steps 3-21 and on.

And look for how many of the things you need to cut. Sometimes you need more than one. :3

SL = The finished part of the fabric. It's usually like white or something. :3
FP = I think it means to fold the fabric. I think... >>

^That will be edited, so yeah. xD
