Some time in December, a company (By the name of Mosquito, I believe, but I'm probably wrong) came out with a sort of "Teenager Repellent". It was a high-pitched noise that only children, teens, and young adults could hear. It would be placed out front stores where teenagers often gathered, so that they would be scared away and not older customers. ;3 I remember reading an article about it in one of my father's computer magazines, but at the time I couldn't believe it.
My brother found a link to the noise today for me. x3 How grand!

But teenagers caught whiff of this, and being rebellious as always, turned it into ringtones that could go off in class that their teachers couldn't hear. It hasn't quite caught on at my school, but I'm sure that next year it will be very common.
Even though, it's still hard to believe that only youth can hear it. D: It just doesn't seem likely, right? But today in class, my brother had a first-hand experience that it worked. He played it, really loud, and everyone in class complained but his teacher. His teacher, thinking the class was pulling a prank on him, came over to see exactly what was going on. When it was explained to him that it was a certain pitch that only younger people can hear, he went out to grab a few more teachers. xD All of the teachers thought it was some sort of elaborate scheme, and asked all of the students to turn around (So that they could not see what was going on). They were then asked to raise their hand if they heard the noise.
Of course, they all heard it~
So, do you hear it? I do, and I hate it. Tomorrow in my computer class, or just any time with an MP3 player and large headphones, I'm going to blast it. x3 I want to test this out myself.
