Welcome! 3nodding For those who are wondering, the anime I'm basing it on, Yoroiden Samurai Troopers--aka, Ronin Warriors in America--is a short, 39-episode TV series with three video-only mini-sequals. It's based around five boys, their white tiger ally, and the two civillians that do their best to help them fight against the evil Demon Emperor Arago of the Youja Kai--aka, Tapla of the Netherrealm for my fellow Americans. They eventually find out that there are NINE armors, not just the five they bear, and that the man who swore to protect the armors was a monk named Kaos--who happened to be that mysterious "Ancient" dude that helped them during the first season.

My story will focus on Kaos, but it will be a slight AU (Alternate Universe) to the series.

See, according to the source books of the series, the armors were originally created by the Japanese Gods to help protect this realm. I poked around, and came across the info for the fertility goddess Inari, who just happens to be the patron deity of foxes and fox-like beings. She's reputed to be the Trickster of the Pantheon, and it's quite possible that the deity's gender isn't exactly fixed--meaning that Inari could be either male or female. However, Inari's commonly referred to as "she".

Now, this is the setup for the entire thing:

Kaos is a kind, selfless human monk with a heart of gold and inhumane dedication to his tasks--which are to protect the human realm and keep the barrier between realms whole and stable. He's an honorable, handsome man, but he's been batting zero on the playing field of love. While he won't deny the fact that he's fond of both genders, no one seemed interested in anything beyond friendship with him. The poor man has begun to believe that he is not destined for true love.

Inari, on the other hand, is a goddess of fertility--in both senses of the word. She's bright, devious, and willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done. She's proud of the title "Divine Trickster of the Pantheon", but she objects to being called a thief. There are certain secrets she had kept from everyone, but only in order to complete her immortal tasks. However, as beautiful as she is in her kitsune (fox spirit/demon) form, her luck with love is also rotton, due to the fact that whenever she feels brave enough to reveal her deepest, most shameful secret to her current suiter, she always ends up scaring him off because of it. After the 6th time, Inari finallly felt that she was destined to always sleep alone.

Both had just about given up on love completely, and both decided to dedicate themselves on their tasks. But Fate made their tasks connect with each other, and they actually met.

This is the story of their relationship, and how it spanned--and deepened--throughout the centuries.
