To understand the first stanza of this poem, you must recognize that in the Bible instead of the word cross, they use either "stake" or "tree." Because of the original cucifiction method.

That fateful tree has split
Fallen, unfulfilled, to the ground
There is no crucifiction
No way to redeem a tainted soul

And even if there was who would know?
That is vanity
But a body cannot cleanse itself
Not without a paternal hand

The Father has abandoned all
Left all to dust,
Left all to emptyness
Left all to sorrow, hollow and cold
the children crumble in their isolation

Salvation cannot be achieved
