Poetry, Philosophy, and Bitching.
All poetry is spur of the moment stuff, probably from a conversation in the forums. All philosophy is thought of by me, then put down on paper to get organized. All bitchings will be what pisses me off, and there will probably be quite a few.
How people think
First of all, many of you will notice that I do not update this very often.

Suck it.

That said, recently in life, the discussion of how different people think has come up, usually provoked by me bringing it up. It has begun to fascinate me and I devote a large portion of my sub-counsious brain mass to it so that it is always ready to spring into the conversation. Despite this, this entry may be rather short. I'm still trying to sift through my thoughts and other's inputs, and it is all very mind-stretching.

As those of you who know me well will know, I speak very quickly and often jump from topic to topic seemingly randomly. However, all of the jumps that seem illogical to you can be trace in my mind. Ask me where something came from when I do this, and I'll walk you through my thought process and how I got there. The neuronet that is your brain is amazingly powerful, but each person's is wildly different.

Personally, my life being very oriented around words, it is fitting that I think in words. This is not to say I am incapable of having emotions, but they are always accompanied by a running internal dialogue. I cannot begin to imagine a life without words. One of my acquaintances, Mary, thinks in feelings, I.E. "What are you thinking about?" "Happy." This is so incredibly foriegn to me that I can't fathom it. However, it does say something about the autonomous functions of the brain: she doesn't think in words what she is going to say, yet she manages to say it regardless.

Regarding that last bit, when I find myself talking but not thinking about what I am saying, it is the oddest experience. I am capable or forming well-crafted, intelligent and coherent sentences without saying the words in my head... my brain automatically takes on the functions of making sure that said sentences make sense.

Lets look for a moment at octopuses. They are incredibly smart creatures, and are capable of following other octopuses' actions by obeserving them, and learning by trial and error. How in the living garden of ******** do they think? They obviously do, in many of the same ways that humans do, but I can't think of how. Could it be in words? Doubtful... the octopuses don't seem to have any language. Is it in senses? Feelings? Do octopuses have feelings? This goes to show that there are many different ways of thinking.

Every person is infinetly unique. For one to try to fathom all the different styles of thinking, all the strengths and weaknessess, would be impossible. However, could one fathom him or herself? We are all complex beings, and often in different religous texts and philosophies one will hear of trying to find your "true self" or something equal to that. Is it possible for us to really know who we are? I think this is only possible in isolation, because we are constantly being influence and changed by inputs from other people and occourences.

I don't have a conclusion today, I'm afraid. Make comments, or don't, whatever. Mostly just THINK. Thats the important bit. Thinking is helpful.

Until next time(hopefully it won't be as long) , Peace.

Very interesting. I think you're on to something when you talk about there being infinite ways of thinking. It's really amazing at how different and how the same people can be, and how we can assume certain things because of our personal experience, where others might not consider that viewpoint at all.

The questions you ask cover so many different fields it would be hard to figure out where to start answering them! And I surely don't have any of the answers myself.
