we hiked the mountains and saw wood violets and dog-tooth violets, and some fairly rare red trilliums.
we also saw a pokupine and some red-tail hawks.
there are sposed to be golden eagles here too but we have not yet seen any.
from the summit we could see, after many intervening ranges of hilltops, the green mountains of Vermont to the east, and the high peaks around Lake Placid to the north.
