I sat up in the bed. It felt weird. It wasn't as comfy as I thought the hospital beds would be. I looked around. The room reeked of the hospital smell, the curtains not drawn, the new sonic show was on. Nurses bustled down the halls with food and medicine. Oh yeah. Today was my birthday. But no one could see me. The nurses said, I had to be treated then I could go have fun.
I looked next to me, and on the black plastic tray, was jello. blue jello. Blue freaking jello. Oh my goodness. They are amazing! They have BLUE JELLO. There was a happy birthday card next to the jello. Eh. I'll read it later.I want my jello! I grabbed the jello, momentarily forgetting the IV connected too my arm, and only relented when it tugged on my skin. I sat happily enjoyed my raspberry blue jello and watched sonic explore the caves of planet möbius.

I awoke sometime later, the nurses telling me we were finally going to start. The surgery using this thing called.... Nano deck? Nino tech? Nano tech? Something. It was supposed to stop the thing making me weak. It would make me normal. Finanaly. I could play soccer with all the other kids, and catch a ball, and WALK. Oh my god! Oh no. mommy told me that was a bad word. Oh my gosh. I could WALK. And RUN. As the bed and me arrived in the room, the doctor read his weird paper thing. I think it's called a file. Daddy has one.

"Kade Bridges. Age 12, race: African American, hair, curly black...."
He glanced at me while he was reading this, making sure I guess.
".....and your in need of the new PNR Glove..." He smiled for a moment. "We like to call them power-gloves. Oh and your daddy said happy birthday. He's out patrolling right now. He stopped by though." 
He lost his friendly smile as he put on his mask. Something told me there was a reason he wasn't smiling anymore. It got very quiet. Then he put this mask over me. 
"When you wake up, you'll be felling ALOT better...." His voice faded away, as I drifted off into a induced sleep, and when the world faded to black.... It lit up again... With me...and my dreams Running.
