Titled: The Day I Almost Killed The Neighbor Kids
Once about four summers ago, I was helping my little cousin with a lemonade stand. When we went to make the drinks, we couldn't find the sugar, so we called her mom. She told us to look on the counter for some sugar in a little sandwich bag. We found it, and mixed it into the drinks. My cousin noted that the lemonade bubbled a bit when she mixed it, but we didn't think anything of it.
About an hour later, we sold a cup of the lemonade to an ice cream truck driver. He said that it tasted like we had put salt in instead of sugar. So we tried it, ISH!!! But we still didn't know what we did wrong!
So maybe like ten minutes later, some rivaling lemonade stand kids came by to try our drinks. They said it tasted funny, but they drank everything in their cups.
EVERYTHING.
When we closed the stand, we went inside to find my cousin's mom. She said that we hadn't taken the sugar off the counter, but the baggie of laundry detergent. Now, I still wonder if those kids made it though the day. Hehe.
