So I just saw the Silent Hill movie, which I have been freaking out about ever since I heard of it. I am a huge fan of the games, love the comic, etc etc, and I was terrified that this movie would suck.

well.

IT DIDN'T.

oh my ********, ******** god, that was one of the most amazing, intense, creepy, and sometimes outright ******** scary movies I have EVER seen, not to mention completely faithful to the game down to actual music and CAMERA ANGLES from it.

The acting was phenomenal (except sean bean's accent kept slipping through but i dont' care. he was barely in it.). The special effects... were stunning. most of it wasn't CGI even, it was latex magic. ********' magic. the monsters.. seeing them that real was just.. wow. (fans of the games will be glad to see both old and new critters: patient demons and nurses and OMFG PYRAMID HEAD appear, and some of the new ones .. well. holy s**t.)
anyway it all really put you RIGHT THERE, just like the games do.. gonk heart

the plot was great too, the ending clears up a lot of stuff (at least it did for me) that the game left vague. (it's based mostly off SH1, dahlia and sybil both appear.. with some others.)

and yeah. i don't know what else to comment on, but.. if you enjoy the disturbing at all, or are even the tiniest bit a silent hill fan, GO SEE IT NOW.

though be warned, there is some extremely intense violence. granted, it's supernatural violence, which tends to frighten me personally a lot less, but it's very, very violent.

but amazing.
