My first Gaian rant. This guy named Dominerd just made a thread about how people who use emotes make him sick, because they're too stupid to use words to express how they feel. Of course he totally ignored the fact that not all emotions can be expressed in words, at least not in the context of a conversation happening in the forums, which is exactly the context that applies here.
He then proved himself wrong when someone asked him to express " gonk ". He said he could not, because it was out of context, and that it would have to be in a story. Well, yes, anyone who used emotes while writing a story has a long way to go before anyone with real writing talent will take them seriously.
But Gaia is not a book! This is a forum. Saying "Korrin gasped in shocked horrer," is incredibly stupid everywhere, but Barton Town! scream
Saying, "I'm sticking my tongue out at you," has no where near the effect of seeing an emote doing it >: P
The stupidest thing, is that when someone told him to act his age, he said that he preffered self expression, but was trying to force people to express themselves in ways they found unnatural.

First and formost, I plan to use this like a regular diary. I'll probably talk about stuff on and off gaia. Mostly off. If I talk about Gaia, I'm probably just bitching.
I may also post some of my fictional writing. I don't know yet.
