Peace of mind
“Where do you go when you die?” and I could hear the trees whisper their answer in unison.
I lay comfortably on my back with my nails grazing the ground underneath me, collecting dirt under them. I come here a lot now, if only sometimes just to stare blankly at the cloudless sky. Today was a little different- my head was a little more chaotic; thus, I talked to the trees. And, they talked back: the wind came and picked up my hair that was sprawled out around my head. The hairs on my arms stood on end, it felt like the rest of my body was soon going to be lifted up as well. The wind pulled and tugged at me, the trees creaked and I finally understood. I closed my eyes and gave myself up and understood.
“Here, here.”
