A little bit of everything and anything
A random story I found in my computer files. Still untitled, let's go with "Things about Valerie"

EPILOGUE: People just like to complicate their lives for nothing

“Who’s that?” the lady asked with a bitter look on her face.
“Someone from work” he replied while saving a card into his wallet.
“So she’s from work huh? Why would you have her work card in the car? Our car?” she said with a tone of anger in her voice.
“She asked me to save it for a while… it was only a favor ok?” he said while getting inside the car.
“You won’t leave! You stay here and explain the situation to me in this instant” the woman said as her husband started the car. “You’re going to meet her right?” she asked while the car started moving.
“Yes I’m going to meet her so what?” he shouted from inside the car that was already a few feet away from the car’s parking lot.
“No you won’t!” she said as she started to look on the ground and found a quite big rock, she picked it up and threw it at the car’s back glass, breaking it into pieces, forcing the man to stop and turn the machine off.
“What are you doing are you crazy?” he yelled in anger as he got off the car and approached the woman, grabbing her arm and dragging her by force inside the house.
“You’re hurting me!” she shouted while crying but he wouldn’t listen so he threw her on a couch and hit her face once.
“Mom!” the girl shouted as she heard all the commotion.
“Go to your room!” the woman shouted and the girl had no option but to get back to her room.
That was a normal day for me at home; my parents were always arguing, shouting, breaking things and talking about my father’s lovers.
He used to tell me that I had to understand that a man has needs and in the future, I had to be flexible with my future husband since he’d cheat on me too but it didn’t mean that he wouldn’t love me, it’s only that if he’s a man, he’d hang out with other women.
My mother used to cry a lot, she was very lonely, I was too. When my father left for work we didn’t know when he’d be back since he had another home to arrive to. Our family and neighbors always commented on how my father was never at home, he missed important dates like graduations, birthdays and even Christmas so we barely see him at home and I liked it that way because when he was home, he and my mom will argue for days.
I became what I am because of that environment, I shut down all my emotions and all my world were my books, I became top student and took a liking to studying so I decided to take a course in college, I became lawyer.
My father and my mother managed to overcome all what happened in the past and for some reason I didn’t understand, they decide to stay with each other. It was none of my business since I’ve always had the idea that if you don’t want any troubles, you shouldn’t interfere with a couple’s life.
I found a decent job and moved out from home. Even when I dated a couple of times my relationships didn’t last long, it was like each of them said “you don’t really give a damn about us at all” and it was true, I only dated because it’s what you expect from someone my age so I wouldn’t mind who as long as I was in a relationship, it was just to fill a society requirement or else they’d start bothering like they always did before when I was a teenager, they always said that I was lesbian or something since I never dated during my school years. So I decided that it was better to find someone to shut their mouths and have a peaceful life.
Romantic love meant nothing to me, after all I’ve lived at home I didn’t believe in it and always thought that it would be better to be alone, less trouble and more fun. My life was perfect, I had awesome friends, a good job and sometimes a handsome man by my side, even when I didn’t truly love him, it was a funny feeling of holding someone, kiss him or take long walks talking about nonsense, I liked that feeling but didn’t really care if he stayed or leave. My days were fine and I had everything under control… until I met him.
