What bothers me is when I see posts that say things like, ‘If you don’t reblog this then you’re a heartless person’, ‘Reblog this and if you don’t then you’re a hater’, ‘If you don’t reblog this then you should be ashamed of yourself’, or ‘if you think this will make your blog ugly then you’re an evil person’.
I hate these posts with a passion. No one should be guilt tripped into reblogging posts. It doesn’t matter if I and other people agree with what the post is supporting, but people shouldn’t be pushed into doing anything.
Sure, those posts aren’t forcing people to reblog, but it doesn’t give them the right to use people’s emotions to help convince them to do it. Besides, what good does reblogging those posts do? A picture of someone with cancer and saying to reblog it if you want to end cancer, isn’t going to make cancer disappear or make any difference to anyone’s life. Or even reblogging a post about supporting gay marriages. Doing so isn’t going to make it legalize for all the other states. Also it’s not right to tell people that they’re homophobia for not reblogging.
It’s disrespectful, judgmental, insulting and bullying people for not doing something they don’t want to do. It’s ridiculous. If people honestly care then they wouldn’t be “reblogging” posts, instead they would go do volunteer work. They would donate, do protests and educate others on subjects that many aren’t aware of.
Those who do these kinds of posts aren’t doing it for “awareness”. They are just doing it to gain a lot of notes and possibly more followers.
