Elitists on Gaia really do make me sad. :C I come across quite a lot of them nowadays, and it's begun to make me wonder. Have people always been this snooty, and I've just never noticed? Or maybe I've just been cleverly hiding in forums that have yet to be attacked by the oh-so-elite.
Maybe it only seems like more elitests because I've been hanging out in the art forums a lot more. D: That could be it. Us artists are very bitchy and picky, afterall. whee
In the artists, I see them bitching about how people won't stop giving them compliments on thier artwork and not enough critisism. When they do receive good critisism, they come up with excuses or reasons why that is the way it is. Who complains about getting a pat on the back? ; 3; While I appreciate crit, a pat on the back is twice as nice. :'D
I do expect a "Thank you, I'll keep that in mind for next time. :3" when I absolutely tear someone's artwork apart, though. D: I'm just terrible like that. So it kinda irks me when I read something like "My scanner messed up" "I was using pen" "I was drawing in a moving vehicle" ; 3; I understand those excuses, because I've dealt with them all myself. But that doesn't keep it from being a flaw, and I don't know what you have noticed or not, so I point out what I see. And I try to do more than point out the problems, I try to offer solutions. Even lame solutions. Like "Don't draw in a moving vehicle."
I also can't stand people that post rants as threads. >__> I go in expecting a discussion, and get a face full off whiney words. But I'll save that rant for a later journal entry, because I like to practice what I preach. whee
.... Do I come off as an elitest at all? gonk Be honest, I want to be friendly. If I start acting like I'm better than you, cut me down. D: I don't wanna be like that.
