......All the years.
I've spent looking for that thing to fill my heart...
to feel that thing....
that makes you want to fly.
of course, I'm not pretty,
No one has ever had a crush on me.
and how I long to feel that special feeling...
Love.
I look in the mirror at dawn, staring at my reflection.
how ugly the person was in the mirror,
staring back at me.
brown,strait, covering her face hair,
long nose, long face, braces blue made her teeth look like train tracks.
Ithought........
I would never fill that gap in my heart,
that longed,
that wished,
that hoped.....
that...preyed...
I woud feel love.
I punched the mirror knowing it lied,
and I sat there with my bruised fist...
and cried.
My mom came in and comforted me...and kissed the bruise with tears of her own.
Then I knew.
it was there all along!
my friends. my family.
they don't care how I look,
if I'm sad,
happy,
or even mad,
they care...
they love.
they don't just leave you behind. they give you a shoulder to cry on,
a castle with their arms,
a sky with their heart. . .
and now I realize.
whenever I'm with my friends, I laugh.
I sing.
