Dennis "Smash" Lootrace is a 34 years old ex-mercenary sergeant who fought during the “War of the 7 torches” 6 years ago; being wounded in combat and losing both of his legs aftermath. He also suffered Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and severe amnesia issues derived from traumatic warfare experiences.
I.S.S.I. is a security and surveillance systems development company born by the needs to establish and maintain control and order around facilities belonging to the Interstellar Doors path and thus implement the law respecting to it. The I.S.S.I. Technology Research Labs delegates found Smash at some illicit shelter for warfare affected and mentally ill people at Enceladus. They "acquired" him for a tiny amount of money, then took him straight to the I.S.S.I. Labs facilities.
After some... not nice experimentation on him with new technologies, human body bionization capabilities, weaponry, mental blanking, brainwash, etc; scientists gave him new enhanced legs and some toys to play his new role. Now he’s totally healed and currently working bravely, for the same people who saved his life (who practically "own" him), as the newest and more advanced surveillance and security implementation tool at the Interstellar Doors facilities around the Solar System.
When he was on duty, his partners used to call him "Smash" because of his bizarre habit of stepping on dying enemies’ heads, smashing their faces with his boots 1 inch heavy duty stainless steel sole till they were dead. Cruel thing… Colleagues use to say that’s the reason why God took his legs off; kind of a divine punishment though. However, the nickname’s the only thing he keeps from his past.
Though, Kichigai-Chan is part of his present. Almost 24/7 companion, this data carrier agent assistant and communications engager is like the equivalent of Cortana to Master Chief; helping Smash to locate and cop the felons all along the Doors facilities.
