But he's shown up again
Last week it was funny
Now the joke's wearing thin.
If you get banned, it's probably because you did something wrong.
If you keep getting banned, it's probably because you keep doing something wrong.
Contrary to popular belief, people don't get banned "for no reason". Mods don't just ban people because they feel like it. Mods are subject to peer scrutiny, and if a mod abuses their authority then that tends to get noticed, and they stop being a mod very quickly. So mods will take pains to make sure that if they ban someone, they can back it up.
You might think your ban is harsh compared to the crime, but permabans don't come out of nowhere - if you got permabanned for calling someone a doodyhead, that's probably because you've been warned and banned for that kind of thing before. If you get permabanned and aren't sure why, usually (i.e.: as long as you don't fill my inbox with cussing or huge rants about how unfair it is and how mods suck) I'm happy to check what happened and let you know, so you can avoid doing it again.
But! Unless you have a clear and compelling reason (with evidence if possible) as to why your permaban was unfair or unwarranted, I will not work to get it overturned. I might query it with the mod responsible to get a clearer answer about the reasoning behind the ban if it's unclear. But I'm not going to go against another mod's decision and undo a permaban just because you asked me to and we talk sometimes on the forums.
If you have a clearly-reasoned argument against your permaban, I can pass it on to other mods. But it needs to be more than just "omg so unfair u guys!!! "
And if you were an a** and got banned for being an a**, you're on your own. Sorry.
