It's been said to death, and probably written to death as well, but here goes.
Magical creatures, as vague as they sound, garner a HUGE interest from just about anyone. Just a bit of imagination is the required regeant, and soon one is whisked off to lands where lupine assailants and vampiric residents rest so, casually.
Being a fan of mythology, and it's many denizens strung along with it, I can happily say I wish magical creatures existed. When I look outside the window out into the gloomy street, it's almost as if the lumbering people share my thoughts.
For me to pick a favourite "magical creature" was no easy task. Fortunately, the vampires more or less won me over, due to animes such as "Vampire knight" or "shiki", as well as doing intensive reading on creatures.
So what is it I like about them? It's a hard question to answer. Surely, I should be opposed to them completely; they are the direct rivals of the human race after all.
Or is it just the greed of humanity, that disallow us to have equal terms. Greed? more like nature. Unfortunately for me, and others, humans and vampires wouldn't co-exist so easily. It's only human nature to be at the top, keeping all other predators or prey in check.
For me, I suppose it's the essence of mystery about them. Surely, they are just another race trying to survive? Or are their intentions something more than that.....who knows.
More on this later.
