Listen unto the dark, hear its quiet song
At dusk it comes upon the blooming skies
It sails upon the air, where it belongs
A single voice among a hundred sighs
I light a candle and conceal the spark
She hides from it, the hollow ghost of day
The Queen of shadows and the queen of dark
Whose essence forms the world of all the fey
She stands before me with her cloak spread wide
And there, the misty shadows swell and breath
The clouds attempt to seal her starry side
Her face framed by a sheltering bough of leaves
The moon rose in a single dream of light
Wrapped in her blackest silk I greet the night.
