forever a memory.
she mourns the light lost from his eyes,
the softness of his touch.
she knows he can't come back to her,
death never loses grip.
she mourns the laughter in his smile,
the care-free sound of youth.
she knows she'll never laugh again,
how could she without him?
she mourns the time they never had,
the times there'll never be.
she knows she's lost his warm embrace,
his kiss upon her hair.
she mourns the life he'll never have,
forgetting living hers.
she knows he's gone and yet she stays,
to gaze in sorrows tears.
forever now a memory,
her love is never there.
becomes a wraith in fading grace,
no love to keep her there.
