journal is working again ^_^ yay smile right now i get to rant about a film that disgusted me so much over the weekend i had to rant about it at some point.

i was prepaired to give it a chance... honest i was, and well judy dench what else can i say? but oh dear, oh my dear god! heaven save us from the nightmare that is Keria Knightly as Elizabeth Bennet.... the film should just be destroyed! seriously i mean it destroy it now.... i don't care if the film quality is better, i don't care i seriously do not care.... i mean let's be honest we can have a very well founded faithful TV adaptation or we can have the modern mess that is supposedly the new love take for 2005.... BULLSHIT!!! utter BULLSHIT!!!! and it's upset me that much i'm using more than 1 exclamation mark! see!! seeeeeee!!!!!

it's not that they were petrified by the 1995 version because it was so faithful an adaptation they had to change when where and how events in the book took place, it's not the fact they butchered the story to the extent they did to make it fit into 2 and a half hours or the fact they wern't wearing accurate period costume of the time...making waistlines lower to cover up for the fact that virtually all the women cast in the film had little or no cleavage... it's not even the fact that let's be honest it was VERY badly cast.... Keria Knightly is NOT ready for Elizabeth Bennet... couple more years yes... now no, she would be a stunning Joe from little women at the moment but she is not old enough nor mature enough to tackle elizabeth, i can just about forgive the fact they cut out a number of sub plots and a great deal of characters... let's be honest bingly has two sisters, and one on her own does NOT potray the plot correctly.

what makes me comepletely and utterly stark raving seethingly angry is the fact they butchered the language! Austen's beautiful language! it may not have even existed they were so set in dumbing it all down!!! "bye mr darcy".... no sweety you are a lady of a period where the shortning of the words was not acceptable "goodbye mr darcy" is the correct term... you recited the lines, there was no think time behind your witty and modern comebacks... you ******** told your sister you were engaged to mr darcy and you were not.... WERE NOT some weepy little pathetic creature who began to pine over mr darcy the moment he looked at you!!!

Austen must be turning in her grave... how dare they make it that little more "modern" dumb it down... and if that wasn't bad enough.... what happened to the end of the story!? i mean the TV series left it a little short... the book tells us how each lived next, but at least we got a wedding... this one is cut even shorter!!! no wedding!? no wedding!?!?!?!? you watch the entire film to see lizzy marry darcy!!!!.... oh god and what was that proposal all about... in the early hours of the morning "I couldn't sleep" "me neither".... uuuuuuuh okiedokie, whatever you say. and when she is suupposed to say "My feelings are so much changed from last year" or whatever it is... what does she say? "Your hands are cold"..... i beg your pardon!? and people there is further conversation after that..... i mean i just.... GOD!!!!! NO JUST NO!!!!

and the american ending? good greif! "mrs darcy" *pukes*... no kissing... NO kissing people, this was not allowed back then... kissing in public = big no no. it was contested in the TV series when they kissed at the very end, but lets be honest we were waiting the entire 6 hours for that, but this one kissy kissy alot of the time.... bad americans bad.
