Teslyn looked out over the field, his eyes moving slowly over the small moving figures in the distance. The twelve year old fairy sighed and flitted up into the air, moving away from them with a sigh. It was his coming of age, and he had to go into the forest, alone to survive on his own for a month, such were the ways of his tribe.
After two hours of wandering he was thoroughly lost. He couldn't make out the sun through the distant tree tops, and had no recognizable landmarks around. The young fairy sighed and then dodged a raindrop as it fell from far above, cursing he flew quickly along the ground, looking for a place that seemed safe, and finally, he found what looked to be an empty mole hill. Sighing as he sat and started a fire with the few twigs and broken leaves then he moved a large leaf partway over the tunnel, though it was still, obviously inhabited because of the smoke and light. The only thing visible in the rainy darkness.
