I get annoyed so easily at people around me lately it seems! I also have been taking things possible out of context, or how they're meant.
When you're texting someone, it doesn't matter if you're busy. If you're busy you don't reply an hour later and say that you're busy. You just don't reply.
Especially because it's someone's birthday, when you say you're busy, it sounds like you're just too busy for them. But whatever, I just need to vent a little bit right now.
